Harry Edward Styles (also known as Harry Styles in the music world) is an British composer and musician and. Harry Styles was one of the founding members of One Direction. He was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England on the 1st of February 1994, and is the son of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles went to the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive, along with three of his classmates, formed a musical group dubbed White Eskimo. They were the winners of the Battle of Bands in 2009 due to their impressive results. In spite of always having an interest in music he also wanted to be an attorney or physiotherapist. In the past, he was employed as a part-time baker in his city to help economically at home. For the year 2010 Harry Styles presented audition for The X Factor where he did the track Is not She Lovely by Stevie Wonder and was selected. The reason for this is that his band was split. The audition was held on The X Factor the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Harry Styles be part of a future band that would be dubbed One Direction along with Liam Payne Zayn Malik Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored the young group in 2010. The group performed the Kelly Clarkson song My Life Would Be Sucky without You and Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart at the time of the contest. This helped them become one of the leading contenders to win the competition. They were however 3rd place, in the third place, behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles did not receive any cash prize. However, Cowell made a deal worth 2 million pounds for One Direction in order for the group to be a part of Syco Records.
