Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic and Ilkay Silk, a multi-talented actress director, producer, playwright, educator, as well as Director of Drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton and is the child of Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot expat" born in Britain.
